East End or West End for live music on the weekends!

If your a fan of live music then you should check out Speisekammer Restaurant some Thursday, Friday or Saturday night. They feature local acts with no cover charge. I have seen some very talented performers and now have a set of favorites I try and see semi regularly. It's always a great atmosphere.

Recently I ventured over to the West End to see a new group I was introduced to by friends and discovered that the The 1400 Bar and Grill which is the old "Krolls" on Webster St. also has live music on the weekends. Live music, nice vibe, no cover charge how can you beat it.

Christmas Tree's go bye bye

It's that time of year when we put our old Christmas Tree's out on the curb to have picked up by the garbage trucks. Or recycling trucks, or composting trucks or wherever they are going.
It's a little sad a signals the end of the Holidays but I am looking forward to the new year.

Yellow tail moves to alley off Park St.

Yellowtail Japanese Bistro used to be on Park St. I thought they had gone out of business however to my delight they are still open in the little alley off Park St. near Books Inc. and next to C'era Una Volta. One of my favorite Sushi places in Alameda.

Fall is here in Alameda

These leaves blanket the streets around my home in Alameda. It took me awhile to find one that wasn't too chewed up. They collect in big piles and it takes me back to my childhood of wanting to ride my bike through them.
